The Hermitage

Catherine the Great called her collection The Hermitage. It was the most celebrated gathering of art in the world, assembled in a home that was itself a kind of monument.
My house is a brick colonial, not a palace— but it is a sanctuary and a curated reflection of who I'm becoming. Right now, it's full of my own paintings.
I started painting with intention at fifty. My work is psychologically alive— full of color and dreamlike atmosphere— moving between portraiture, abstraction, landscape, and collage. I don't always know where I'm going when I begin, but I'm learning to trust that.
